Road condition monitoring

The networks of automatic weather stations represent an important tool to support operators responsible for the monitoring of potentially dangerous road conditions.

The measurement stations of MTX can be integrated with appropriate sensors for the detection of meteorological parameters for the monitoring of road conditions: type of precipitation (present weather), visibility, snow level and road surface measurement.

In particular, the road surface detector, through the use of sophisticated mathematical algorithms, is able to predict potentially dangerous situations (eg. the formation of ice).

The data collected from the sensors are acquired and processed by the data logger; in case of critical situations, the acquisition system can send real-time alerts to both operations centers and individual operators in charge of traffic control.

The reliability of the measures obtained through the use of MTX products is guaranteed by a thirty years’ experience and the important number of applications realized.
