Underground / water temperature sensor

The sensing element (FAR040BA) converting the temperature value to an electrical signal is a platinum resistance (Pt100). Its resistance varies linearly with temperature variations.
The transducer is located inside a cylindrical PVC housing sealed with epoxy resin. This guarantees a correct waterproofing of the sensing element, not modifying the dynamic response to temperature variations and permitting the correct thermal equilibrium with the outside.
The use of epoxy makes the junction between sensor and the connecting cable watertight so to avoid water seepage.
