Soil temperature sensor
The FAR011RA is a multi-drop sensor for the measurement of soil temperature. Multi-drop capability allows the hook up of multiple sensing elements of the same type of sensors
The structure of the soil temperature sensor allows to install easily the sensing element at the required depths.
Temperature measurement can be done up to a maximum depth of -70cm. and is based on a platinum termoresistance pt100 with a response curve according to the class 1/3 DIN 43760 standard.
The housing of the sensor is made up of a PVC rod which guarantees a thermal insulation. The sensing elements are inserted in stainless steel casings in order to protect them against possible corrosive agents while ensuring the maximum sensibility to the temperature.
The sensor is microprocessor based (low power 32bit), guarantees accurate and stable measurements over time and makes the output available on a RS485 port.
Through a RS485 communication one can avoid the use of a multiple number of analogue inputs for the purpose of acquisition.
The soil temperature sensor is built according to the WMO standards (World Meteorological Organization).
