Visibility sensor

The visibility sensor PCTVI010 is an instrument for the determination of the optical visibility in the range between 0 ...2000m; this characteristic make it ideal for monitoring on roads and motorways.
Using technique of scattering, with optical elements positioned at 45°, the sensor measures the light reflection and determines the global visibility.
The particles present in the area of measurement (eg fog droplets) disperse the infrared light emitted by the transmitter. The receiver measures the diffused light, allowing to the device to calculate the degree of reflection.
In function of reflection measure, and of the base set-up, the instrument determines the state of visibility.
The result of processing can be transmitted to an external data logger trough a digital interface RS485 or by an analog current signal (4 ... 20mA).
To connect the device cable is available complete with 8-pin connector with retaining screw system.
